sherman 4

Food is one of the most connective practices we share as humans—from growing and cooking to sharing and eating. Located in the low-contrast Van Nuys, California, where food insecurity is prevalent and many households lack complete kitchen facilities, Sherman 4 imagines multi-family housing that uses food as social and civic infrastructure. Situated along the Tujunga Wash, the project integrates shared kitchens, food production, and communal dining spaces to extend domestic life into collective life, positioning housing as a microcosm of the city and food as a medium for connection across scales.
